What’s happening this weekend?

This weekend is shaping up to be a warm one, with highs of 19 degrees. Some light showers are forecast but there won’t be any torrential rainfall! No matter what the weather is like, there are some really cool events that should not be missed this weekend!


The women’s international football team are in action on Friday as Ireland take on Norway in a World Cup qualifier. The match kicks off at 5.30pm in Tallaght Stadium and tickets are just €5 for adults and kids go free! Kodaline take to the stage at Malahide Castle at 5pm and Picture This are in The Academy at 7:15pm for an intimate warm-up gig ahead of their ‘Summer In The City’ concert on the 23rd of June.


It’s set to be an action-packed Saturday with lots going on all over the city. The All City Tivoli Jam starts at 11am in the Tivoli Theatre car park. The event showcases Ireland’s finest graffiti artists as well as some international talent. It’s the last Jam before the Tivoli Theatre is demolished and the best part; tickets are just €6.35. Sandstorm is back at Dollymount Strand again! The run starts at 12pm and you can register for just €15. Test your limits with a 5k beach run full of challenging obstacles including the tyre mound, the net crawl and the eight-foot wall. Check out the map and register here. In the evening, Gorillaz are in Dublin for their biggest Irish show to date, they steal the stage from Kodaline at Malahide Castle. The gig is set to kick off at 4pm with De La Soul, Little Simz and Hypnotic Brass Ensemble on support.


Then on Sunday there is really only one place to be; Dublin Kite Festival! The Dublin City Council event will provide a jam packed day of exhilarating fun for all the family in North Bull Island, Clontarf. The event provides a day full of colourful entertainment which includes lively music, exciting games, kite making workshops and a kite flying competition! This is a free event and suitable for all ages. It all kicks off at 11am and you can find out more here.

Across the weekend
